| Your partly right. Mainly its an issue for those running front mount intercoolers. Due to each bank no longer being cross fed the difference in pressure can be very large if there is not equal flow and cooling to each intercooler. The number of front mounts Ive seen mounted on ttnet behind stock fascias proves my point. There is no way the top intercooler recieves equal flow with one of these. Even small differences in temperature of the air between banks can start making a big difference over time. How do I know this for sure? I had this exact problem on my set up while tuning my motec on the dyno. Had massive holes in my torque/power caused by a difference in temp between banks and hence pressure. Presssue difference was large (measured using the motec pressure sensors) despite the balance tube. It is simply too small a diameter. Hence I added a balance pipe and fixed the flow issue to the front mount. Not neccesary for all TTs, but far from saying I wouldnt recommend it for any.
